Arajilla Retreat

Arajilla Retreat is Lord Howe Island’s premier retreat nestled under a canopy of Kentia Palms and Banyan Trees. Arajilla is found at the island’s sheltered northern end just moments away from Old Settlement Beach.

Family owned and managed, there are twelve beautifully appointed luxury suites, some with two bedrooms ideal for families and friends travelling together. Guests experience the tranquillity of the retreat from the guest lounge, sample island delights from the renowned Arajilla Restaurant or experience true relaxation and rejuvenation at the Arajilla Day Spa, the only one of its kind on Lord Howe Island.

At Arajilla guests have a rare chance to be pampered, walk deserted beaches, take a specialist yoga class, swim through picturesque lagoons, go snorkelling, diving or fishing and experience the island at leisure. Guests at Arajilla revel in the beauty of Lord Howe Island.

Suites

Stay amongst dappled forest light in generous guest suites. Meandering pathways lead through rainforest gardens to 12 spacious luxury suites nestled within a Banyan and Kentia Palm forest. Each of the three suite configurations – Kentia, Banyan, and Arajilla – are designed to offer guests the accommodation style best suited to their personal needs.

All suites have king-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms, kitchenettes and spacious decks. There are ceiling fans, IDD telephones, TV, plus CD player with clock radio, and a DVD is available on request plus an up-to-date DVD library. The bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers, bathrobes, and luxury amenities. Each suite contains thoughtful inclusions and all the equipment required to help guests experience Lord Howe to the fullest: beach towels and chairs, mountain bikes, snorkelling and light fishing gear plus backpacks.

Food & Wine

Set amongst the forest and surrounded by timber decks, the Arajilla Restaurant is elegant yet casual in style. Here international-style cuisine, with a seafood emphasis, is complemented by a wide choice of Australian and New Zealand wines.

For guests, the room tariff includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dine in the restaurant, in the comfort of the suite or in one of the many spectacular locations with picnic hamper or barbeque pack in hand. Each evening there’s ‘Happy Hour’, with Arajilla guests offered complimentary selected pre-dinner drinks – the perfect way to watch the sun set on another perfect Lord Howe day.

The restaurant is open daily for breakfast from 8.00am to 10.00am, and for a light lunch from midday to 2.00pm. For dinner the restaurant opens at 6.30pm, all meals are offered to in-house guests only.
