Lord Howe Island is Australia’s most pristine holiday destinations and is one of only seven locations in Australia with a World Heritage listing. It is a spectacularly beautiful island with majestic mountains, crystal-clear waters and wonderful beaches, complemented by a magnificent climate.
Milky Way Holiday Apartments occupy the prime island location with Old Settlement Beach less than a minute from your front door. Owned and operated by the Young family, all Milky Way units are fully self-contained with modern conveniences.
Your accommodation choices include our two bedroom Belmoreana luxury units or our bedroom Mooreii garden units which can sleep, three persons.
There are plenty of excellent eating spots on the island and your hosts will be happy to arrange transport for you – even though just about everywhere on Lord Howe Island is within walking distance from Milky Way.
Our guests are welcome to use our garden barbeques while you’ll also find that other barbeque facilities are located at various spots around the island. Your hosts can also arrange fishing trips, glass-bottom boat excursions, around-the-island cruises, nature walks and guided hikes.
Or just walk yourself – the views, flora, and fauna are breath-taking.
And snorkeling at Old Settlement Beach can be very rewarding as you are likely to find yourself in company with some magnificent green turtles. Snorkeling is also a wonderful experience at Ned’s Beach where you can swim amongst thousands of fish – all eager to be hand-fed.
For the sports-minded, Lord Howe boasts a challenging golf course, bowling club, and tennis facilities. Groceries and liquor are available from several island outlets while Westpac, and theCommonwealth Bank all operate agencies on the island. Your holiday package includes airport transfers as well as an introductory tour around the island to help you get your bearings. You’ll also find that your unit includes a complimentary starter food pack.
