Run from sixth-generation Islander James’ home and named after his grandfather, Jim’s blends old island charm with a fresh, friendly atmosphere that’s become a favourite for both locals and visitors.

From sunrise to midday, locals and travellers alike gather for great coffee, nourishing food, and heartfelt hospitality. Whether you’re fuelling up before a hike or winding down after a swim, Jim’s is the perfect place to pause, connect, and savour the island’s slow rhythm. The café’s relaxed vibe, quality offerings, and genuine conversations make it a must-visit on your Lord Howe itinerary.

Jim’s is also the home of TownCenter, Lord Howe’s official guide app, designed and built by James himself. Visitors can chat directly with him over coffee for help with the app or tips on what to see and do. Once installed via the café’s free WiFi, TownCenter works entirely offline and is the easiest way to navigate, explore, and discover the island.
