Thornleigh Farm

Over five generations we have been providing for Island families and visitors.  Established in 1890 by Philip John English Dignam (our great grandfather) Thornleigh was for decades the Island hub for fuel, dairy, meat, vegetables and fruit.

Today we focus on our orchard with high quality naturally grown citrus.  We have trees that were planted in the early 1900’s as well as some well established dwarf varieties. We now make award winning marmalade!

We also grow our own Hibiscus Rosella Fruit. It is made into the most delicious jam with a tart-sweet flavour that can also be served alongside your cheese plate.

When wandering past our farm you will hear our happy hens as they frolic in the garden!  Their eggs are available at the post office.

Our ethos of no dig gardening and growing naturally with wild meadow like pastures is to encourage a healthy biodiversity of bees, birds and insects.

Our preserves are available online – https://store.thornleighfarm.com
